Food Allergy Accommodations

Dining on campus is an integral part of the College experience. Recognizing that many students have food allergies and dietary restrictions that will have an impact on their dining options and experience, UChicago Dining has taken measures to assist students with managing their food allergies in the dining hall. The UChicago Dining Allergy Guide (PDF) provides an overview of their approach and the services they offer.

Students with documented food allergies who need accommodations beyond the resources available through UChicago Dining should complete the SDS Accommodation Request Form available in the SDS Application Center and provide supporting disability documentation.

Example of accommodations and services available based on the severity of the medical condition:

  • Single room to avoid contact with allergens and ingredients frequently found in packaged food.
  • Liaise with UChicago Dining nutritionist to provide guidance on dietary options.
