Section A: Excused Absences/Make-up Participation Points

Using the Attendance and Flexibility Consideration Rubric, I have determined that:a student with a disability may miss class for disability-related reasons beyond the number of allowed absences on the syllabus. Additional information is required.

Additional details or exceptions to allotment: this is a discussion-based course, so I am willing to record classes that the student(s) must miss if I receive advanced notice of an impending absence. if that is not possible, the absent student(s) should also make arrangements with a classmate who is willing to share notes - I can facilitate locating such a classmate if necessary.
Plan for make-up participation points, if applicable (e.g. .submit additional blog posts on Canvas):short response papers (250 words) addressing the readings discussed during classes missed would make up for the loss of participating in class discussions, and student(s) should demonstrate in those responses that they have familiarized themselves with the in-class lectures/framing/discussions they missed (e.g. by listening to class recordings/reading shared notes)
