| Additional details or exceptions to allotment: | This is a discussion-based course, therefore, a large part of the course is based upon attendance and participation. Accordingly, the standard excused absence listed in the syllabus is 1 (barring illness). Adjusted would be no more than 4. Any more than 4 absences (even if excused) would impact not only a student's participation but also their grasp of the course material. However, due to the pandemic and taking into consideration disability needs, I am willing to be quite flexible and work with students who have to miss class due to either an extended illness or disability-related issues. |
