Disability Awareness and Inclusion Training

In observance of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, “which was proclaimed on December 3, 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3. The observance of this day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for dignity, rights, and well-being of persons with disabilities (International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2022 | DISD (un.org))”.  Access UChicago Now (AUN) will host the Mayor’s Office for People With Disabilities (MOPD), Dr. Jerod Lockhart, Training Officer at MOPD, who will lead a Disability Awareness Training as a starting point for disability education and inclusion at the University of Chicago. All are welcome. Participants will be informed on the prevalence of disabilities, awareness and etiquette, tips for communication and acceptable terminology, attitudinal awareness, and accessibility resources available on campus.

Accessible Events Training
