Student Employment Accommodations
The University is committed to accessibility for students, faculty, other academic appointees, staff, and postdoctoral researchers with disabilities. The Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits discrimination based on disability status and supports the provision of reasonable accommodations in the workplace. If you have a disability and are a student employee of the University, you may be eligible for reasonable accommodations in the workplace. The nature of workplace accommodations may differ from any academic accommodations you may receive and as such will require a separate application process.
If you would like to apply for accommodations specific to your student employee role, please complete the student employment application. SDS will review the application and assign it to the relevant department, either the Equal Opportunities Office or the Employee and Labor Relations Office, for further processing.
Student Disability Services (SDS) is happy to assist if you need help navigating the process of applying for workplace accommodations as a student employee. Our email is disabilities@uchicago.edu. You may also speak directly with your supervisor or the department’s human resources contact.
