|Please explain why deadline extensions beyond the number allowed in the syllabus is not a reasonable accommodation.||Assignments are in the form of problem sets where students are encouraged to work in groups of up to 5 members. The problem sets are posted on Canvas on Friday, and due on the following Thursday giving ample time for the students to work on it. A deadline extension for problem sets could potentially happen in two ways: (1) giving the student with accommodation the problem set early, (2) giving the student with accommodation a later deadline. Giving the problem set early will give an unfair advantage for students who do not have accommodation but work with the student. Even if the student with accommodation works alone, I cannot control that it is not shared with others. Also, giving the student with accommodation a later deadline would stop me to posting the solutions to the problem sets on time.|
