Section A: Excused Absences/Make-up Participation Points

Using the Attendance and Flexibility Consideration Rubric, I have determined that:a student with a disability may miss class for disability-related reasons beyond the number of allowed absences on the syllabus. Additional information is required.

Additional details or exceptions to allotment: Lecture absences allowed; slides are posted on Canvas prior and after each lecture.
Absences from laboratory sections are generally not allowed; however, the lowest score will be neglected in the calculation of the final grade, so effectively one absence is forgiven.
Plan for make-up participation points, if applicable (e.g. .submit additional blog posts on Canvas):Student can attend different lab sections later in the week if they miss their own, and we do drop the lowest lab grade. We could also give some remote versions of the labs for them to do on their own, as make-ups.
Please explain why absences beyond the number allowed in the syllabus is not a reasonable accommodation.
