Student Disability Services has two main employment opportunities for students: Undergraduates can sign up to take notes for a classmate, and graduate students can sign up to help us proctor exams.

Become a Notetaker

If you are interested in becoming a notetaker, go to the AIM Student Portal and submit your application by clicking the link on the right-hand side of the screen.

AIM student portal home page with arrows indicating link to notetaker application.

If you are currently receiving accommodations through our office, please email notetake@uchicago.edu to notify us of your interest in becoming a notetaker. Our office will need to update your profile in AIM before you apply for this position.

You must submit a sample of your notes before a job offer can be extended. If you are selected for any of the courses for which you have applied for a role, you will receive a confirmation email.  Upon your acceptance of the position, you will receive a checklist of required steps as part of your onboarding process as a notetaker. The employment onboarding process must be completed thoroughly before you can be compensated as a notetaker.

Become an Exam Proctor

If you are a graduate student, you are eligible to proctor exams for Student Disability Services.

Graduate students interested in proctoring exams for SDS can apply via the Graduate Student Exam Proctors job posting in the GRAD Gargoyle job board (login required)

Student Employment Accommodations
