Disability:IN would like to invite UChicago students with disabilities looking for internships to participate in their upcoming Disability:IN’s Corporate Internship Showcases. The showcases will feature companies like Bank of America, Nike, Chemonics, Intel and more!
This is an excellent event for students with disabilities to learn from company representatives, the internship opportunities available to them along with guidance on how to apply, requirements, and live Q&A with companies of their interest!
Participation is free of charge for UChicago students with disabilities.

Event Overview
GOAL OF THE DISABILITY:IN CORPORATE INTERNSHIP SHOWCASES: Assist students with disabilities at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), colleges and universities supporting Indigenous Americans, and universities across the country to find internship opportunities with Disability:IN’s participating Inclusion Works companies.

Time: Total 2 hours; 1 hour for presentations & 1 hour for breakout sessions to include live Q&A and dialogue
Who: 20 Inclusion Works participating companies that have internship programs. Participating companies will be named in the coming weeks. (We will hold 2 separate events with 10 different companies each time to provide more opportunities for students with disabilities to secure internships.)
Content: Each company will present to a virtual student audience in 5 minutes:
- Introduction of themselves and their role
- A brief overview of their company and disability inclusion
- Available internships
- Eligibility
- Internship program schedule
- Where to find internship opportunities
- How to apply for an internship (how to navigate careers site)
- The selection process
Students will also be invited to participate in an interactive trivia question in between each presentation, by answering via the Zoom chat function
At the commencement of the showcase, 5 breakout rooms will open for candidates and company representatives to participate in an active dialogue. There will be two companies assigned to each room totaling 5 breakout rooms. Efforts will be taken to pair students in the breakout rooms with their top choice company.
Criteria: College students with disabilities who are freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors searching for internship opportunities only.
Participation: Students will be required to upload their resumes to Disability:IN’s resume database and complete an electronic registration form that details their educational profile along with their internship interests.
Vetting: The candidates will be vetted by Disability:IN to ensure they meet the criteria for participation.
Follow-up: Following the events, candidates will have access to Disability:IN’s Opportunities Page that will provide participating and non-participating company internship details. Companies and candidates will also be able to continue to express their interest in each other through varies means of communication i.e., LinkedIn, direct email, resume database.
Disability:IN’s Inclusion Works program is a customized 3-year disability inclusion consulting program that provides unlimited access to disability inclusion experts and a Community of Corporations that meets and shares best practices.
